Southern Tea Cake

This Southern tea cake recipe is sweet and flaky, perfect for an afternoon glass of sweet tea or cup of hot tea.


• 1 cup white sugar

• 1 cup brown sugar

• 4 eggs, beaten

• 1 cup vegetable oil

• 1-1/2 cups self-rising flour

• 1 tsp. vanilla extract

• 2 cups pecans, finely chopped


1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

2. Lightly grease and flour a 9"×13" baking dish.

3. Stir together sugars, eggs and oil until smooth. Stir in flour and vanilla. Add pecans and stir until evenly mixed.

4. Pour into baking dish and bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Serve with whipped cream.
